
	AVA WALKFESTS Gruene Volksmarsch - 5K/10K Walk This spring special event 5K/10K walk will take the walker through the residential and city streets of Gruene. The Startpoint is the Gruene Dance Hall located at the corner of Hunter and Gruene Road in Historic Gruene. If you are travelling north from San Antonio up I-35 or coming south from Austin down I-35 you will want to take Exit # 191. Go toward Canyon Lake on FM 306. Turn left at 2nd light on Hunter Rd to the Village of Gruene. There is adequate parking available in lots and on streets near the Gruene Dance Hall. This event will be held Saturday, 31 March 2007 and Sunday, 1 April 2007. You may start between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon and you must complete the event by 3:00 pm. The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome to walk or jog the marked route at their own pace. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. This route is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs due to short stretches of unpaved road shoulder. Restroom facilities are available at the start point. Pets on leash are welcome. The checkpoints will have water and refreshments for walkers and their pets. When you register, you accept responsibility for the guidelines for AVA Volksport events and agree to observe the principles of good sportsmanship.
